A new coconut water brand, CocoGen, has landed on Australian shelves after its successful debut in Singapore in August.
It claims to be the first functional organic coconut water, with added electrolytes for hydration. CocoGen’s Australian launch marks the brand’s official entry onto the global stage.
Made with Vietnamese coconut water, the company said that CocoGen delivers 25% more electrolytes than leading coconut water brands, aiming to support hydration for active lifestyles. CocoGen currently partners with local farming families who own more than 7,500 hectares of organic farms, using organic fertilisers and bio-pesticides. Each coconut is harvested within 50 km of the factory to ensure maximum freshness and minimal processing.
CocoGen currently offers 3 different variants namely:
- CocoGen + Electrolytes – contains 5 essential electrolytes
- CocoGen + Magnesium – delivers 700mg of magnesium sourced from North Atlantic seawater to ease muscle tension, aid recovery, and support mood
- CocoGen + Collagen – contains 5g of hydrolysed collagen peptides, sourced from Germany, to support healthy skin, hair, and joints
CocoGen Co-Founder, Damon Gorrie, highlighted that he set up the company after identifying a gap in the market for a premium functional coconut water that delivers enhanced nutrition and organic quality.
Gorrie added, “We wanted to take something naturally incredible and make it even better. Coconut water has always been refreshing, but with CocoGen, we’ve created a drink that works harder, hydrating while supporting your skin, muscles, mood, and performance.”
Gorrie mentioned that currently, innovation in coconut water revolves mainly around flavor, as such CocoGen takes coconut water to another level.
CocoGen is now available online at drinkcocogen.com.au and through select independent retailers across Sydney and Melbourne for RRP $5.50 (US$3.55) in a 500ml bottle, with a national rollout to follow.
Australia’s coconut water market is forecast to reach A$1.3 billion (US$840 million) with a double digit CAGR of 14% by 2033. On the other hand, the functional drinks sector already reached A$2.5 billion (US$1.61 billion) and has a CAGR of 6.3%. CocoGen can take advantage of both growing markets.
