In February 2023, Meiji Dairy’s milk and yogurt production hub in Tianjin, China started operation supplying the mainland with milk, yogurt, ice cream and confectionery amongst others.
Since 2013, Meiji had been producing at only one site in Suzhou, as such its supply is limited to a small area due to its chilled products’ short shelf life. With the opening of Tianjin plant, supply will be extended to the northern area of China.
Meiji Dairy (Tianjin) also plans to produce new products in response to market needs, in addition to its existing milk and yogurt products. The new factory will approximately double the production capacity of milk and yogurt in China to respond to growing market demand.
