HiteJinro, a Korean producer of alcoholic drinks like soju, beer and wine, is constructing its first overseas production plant for soju at the Green i-Park industrial complex in Hung Yen province in Vietnam, with completion scheduled by the end of 2026.
This new facility, which requires an investment of US$100 million, will occupy an area of 82,000 sq.metres, will serve as a production and logistics hub for Southeast Asia and other global markets, while creating jobs in the region.
Vietnam was identified as the first country to which HiteJinro exported soju and is a key market for the company as it builds its overseas growth over the next decade. The new plant will be the primary manufacturing and distribution base to serve the Southeast Asian market, as HiteJinro aims to trim export and logistic costs by being nearer to the consumer markets.
The new plant is designed to have an annual production capacity of 70 million litres or equivalent to 5 million cases of soju and fruit-flavored soju.
