Mars, Incorporated has officially opened Thailand’s first Pringles factory in Chonburi, following an investment of more than Bt7 billion (US$209 million). The factory occupies a built-in area of 73,800 sq.metre in a 208,000 sq.metre site, signifying ample room for expansion.
Already, the plant is now starting its 2nd production line catered mainly for regional exports, with a third line planned in late 2027.
Gabriel Fernandez, President for AMEA at Mars Snacking, said the official opening of the facility and the start of 2nd production line demonstrated the company’s long-term commitment to Thailand as a strategic manufacturing and export base. Fernandez added, “This factory will strengthen regional manufacturing and supply while improving our ability to respond to market demand. The factory also supports the production of different Pringles flavours to suit consumer preferences in each market.”
The factory also employs 170 people in its initial production phase. The Chonburi facility is also a fully-digitalised smart factory thereby ensuring high quality and safety standards in production.
Mars owns a portfolio of brands spanning snacks, confectionery and pet food including Pringles, M&M’s, Wrigley, Snickers, Royal Canine and Whiskas amongst others.
