Heineken has disclosed plan to invest an additional US$500 million in Vietnam over the next 5-10 years, including an expansion of its brewery in Vung Tau, now part of HCMC, with the goal of making it the largest beer production facility in Asia.
Vietnam is currently one of Heineken’s 17 key markets through 2030. Heineken has invested around US$1 billion in Vietnam since entering the market in 1991. The company considers Vietnam one of the world’s most attractive markets, citing its large market size, high per-capita beer consumption, skilled workforce, and stable business environment.
Heineken is also planning to shift production of Tiger beer from Singapore to Vietnam and Malaysia, after closing its Tiger brewery in Singapore this year.
