Grocery chain operator, Puregold Price Club Inc. is setting aside Pesos 8.8 billion (US$142.5 million) in capital expenditure (capex) to support its plan to open 30 new Puregold stores in 2026.
The retailer is aiming a 5-7% growth in revenue in 2026 via store expansion, supply chain improvements and customer-focused initiatives.
More than a quarter of its capex will be used to fund the rollout of 30 Puregold stores and 30 Puremart outlets, reinforcing its push into provincial markets. Puregold is targeting organic store expansion of 8-10%, particularly in 2nd to 4th-class municipalities, as it seeks to capture growing consumption outside major urban centers.
Meanwhile, Pesos 2.8 billion (US$45.35 million) is earmarked for the expansion of its membership shopping chain, including 3 S&R warehouse clubs and 10 S&R quick service restaurants.
The rest of the capex will be allocated to logistics, maintenance, IT and sustainability projects.
As of end-2025, Puregold has more than 784 stores nationwide across various formats including hypermarkets, supermarkets, Puremart convenience store outlets and S&R membership warehouses.
