Japan-based Marubeni Foods, a subsidiary of Marubeni has recently signed a strategic partnership agreement with The Vietnam National Tea (VNT), a major Vietnamese tea manufacturer.
VNT possesses vast tea plantations and advanced processing technology, and manufactures and sells a diverse range of tea leaves. Through this agreement, Marubeni Foods will combine its accumulated expertise in tea leaf manufacturing and development technology and quality control with The Vietnam National Tea’s processing technology and supply base to promote collaboration in the development and manufacturing of green tea for the Japanese market.
A manufacturing system will be established that meets the demands of the Japanese market. Influenced by the global matcha boom, overseas demand for Japanese tea is expanding. Japanese companies are seeking expansion by diversifying their raw material and production bases overseas.
