Thai President Foods Public Company Limited, the producer of instant noodle brand MAMA, has reported that its sales revenue dropped 3.63% in the 2nd quarter 2026 compared to a year earlier.
The company has attributed several factors to the decline and they include a 1.94% contraction in domestic sales revenue from instant noodles and instant foods as purchasing power and consumption declined after the ‘Let’s Go Halves Plus’ economic stimulus scheme ended in December 2025.
In addition, border closure between Thailand and Cambodia has also reduced sales in border areas.
The bakery segment also declined by 2.14% amid industry competition, particularly the arrival of new competitors and product price reductions.
Meanwhile, overseas sales of instant noodles and semi-instant foods also fell 3.8% because of Thailand-Cambodia border problems, which led to a backlash against products from Thailand, including instant noodles.
Despite lower sales in both domestic and overseas markets, Thai President is closely monitoring the situation and hope to take proactive marketing measures to face these challenges.
For the first half of 2026, Thai President sales revenue stood at Bt 13.064 billion (US$392 million), down 6.6% year on year.
