Malaysian Fisheries Development Board (LKIM) has recently introduced ‘door-to-door’ sale of fish to consumer homes through cash-on-delivery service throughout Malaysia. This is to facilitate households to gain access to fresh fish during the Movement Control Order (MCO) period.
LKIM Director-General Raja Khalid Raja Ariffin said the initiative was the result of a collaboration with 44 fishermen associations throughout the country under the National Fishermen Association.
Interested households can place their orders for fish online through www.nekmatbiz.com.my. This initiative also seeks to reduce congestion at markets/retail stores and curb the spread of COVID-19.
LKIM will also be selling fish online through the Shopee application and consumers will no longer need to go to the market to get their supply.
