Fresheasy Co., a leading meal kit provider in South Korea, will introduce more than 100 types of meal kits in Singapore starting in April as it strives to expand its global presence.
Fresheasy will make its 100 meal kit products available on Redmart, the top online platform for food products in Singapore operated by Lazada Group.
Fresheasy currently ships about 10 products including a meal kit for tteokbokki to Singapore. Several meal kits are produced at a local production facility. It plans to expand the number of meal kits to more than 100 in the 1st half of 2023 by launching local production. Menus will include dakbokkeumtang, or braised chicken, in garlic sauce, and kalguksu, or noodle soup, with mushrooms.
Fresheasy will also allow its products to be available at Foodpanda, a Singapore-based grocery delivery platform.
Chung Chung-gyo, Fresheasy’s CEO said that the company has to develop certain products tailored to local tastes in order to make further inroads into the Singapore market.
Fresheasy global expansion is to arrest the slow growth in the domestic market. Fresheasy reported sales of US$150 million in 2021, with more than 60% sales derived from meal kits.
While the market for meal kits is almost saturated in Korea, in Southeast Asia the market has just started to grow.
