Brief Introduction to PT Tirta Fresindo Jaya
PT Tirta Fresindo Jaya (Tirta) is one of Indonesia’s leading beverage manufacturer, and is a subsidiary of the Mayora Group, a multinational food and beverage company with diverse business interests.
Categorised as a medium-sized firm, Tirta employs more than 1,300 workers and produce well-known beverage brands such as Le Minerale, Teh Pucuk Harum, 7 Kurma and Kopikap Cappuccino amongst others.
Established since 1995, Tirta operates several manufacturing facilities across Indonesia in Bogor, Pasuruan, Makassar, Palembang, Ciherang, Cianjur and Muara Jaya.
One unique quality of Tirta is that it has a broad portfolio in almost all beverage segments from mineral water to carbonated drinks, tea, dairy and juices.
According to an interview with Mr Muhammad Fikri Arifudin from the Division Planning Engineering Division of PT Tirta, “Our key products include Nipis Madu Lime Soda, a carbonated soft drink which offers a refreshing sensation and energy for on-the-go consumption as well as Le Minerale, a pure mineral water sourced from the mountain and packed on-site.” Another key product is Teh Pucuk Harum, an RTD tea product made from the tip of the tea leaf utilizing advanced AST (Advanced Sterilizing Technology). Tirta also manufactures 7 Kurma date-based drink, which is a combination of premium milk with selected date varieties, positioned as a nutritional drink for Indonesian consumers.
At its Muara Jaya plant, Tirta manufactures up to 48,000 bottles of Nipis Madu drink and 52,000 bottles of Teh Pucuk Harum per hour, to primarily meet domestic market demand. The plant however maintains robust production capacity and is ready to explore overseas market expansion.
Long term partnership with igus to optimize Tirta production line
Mr Fikri emphasized that Tirta has maintained a long-standing technological partnership with igus, a global motion plastics specialist, dating as far back as 2017.
This collaboration has played an essential role in enhancing efficiency and reliability of Tirta’s production system. Fikri mentioned the integration of igus® Guide Y technology in 2024 as a significant step in optimizing its automation and material handling processes within the beverage production line. The partnership reflects both partners’ commitment to continuous innovation and leveraging advanced engineering solutions to maintain high standards in manufacturing.
Tirta’s Muara Jaya plant currently utilizes a range of igus® components like iglidur® sleeve bearings, insert bearings and customized A160 barstock parts tailored to Tirta’s specific machine conditions. Fikri said, “We choose igus® products for their durability, low maintenance requirements, and excellent performance in high-speed production environments. The materials used in igus components are self-lubricating and corrosion-resistant, which significantly reduces downtime and extends the lifespan of our equipment. Moreover, the ability to customize barstock parts to suit our unique machine configurations has allowed us to optimize operational efficiency and ensure smoother production processes. 
Overall, igus® solutions have also contributed to enhanced reliability, reduced operational costs and improved productivity at our Muara Jaya facility.”
Stevanus Risnanda Rahadian, Sales Engineer at PT igus® Indonesia clarified that these igus parts used by Tirta are applied in critical areas of the manufacturing process, particularly within the filling production line and the bottle gripper (handling) mechanism section. Stevanus highlighted, “These igus® components are chosen for their durability, precision fit, and ability to operate without additional lubrication, which is essential for maintaining hygiene and reducing maintenance in high-speed beverage production. Stevanus emphasised that these igus components and their performance have a direct impact on Tirta’s production efficiency, hygiene standards and equipment longevity. He added, “Without them (igus components), maintaining consistent output and quality will be significantly more challenging.
Tirta to strengthen partnership with igus as it continues on its expansion journey
Currently, Tirta is on an expansion mode. It has recently invested in a new manufacturing facility called Muara Jaya 2 as it aims to meet growing market demand and enhance its production capabilities. According to Fikri, Muara Jaya 2 is designed to incorporate advanced technologies and sustainable practices, further strengthening its position in Indonesian beverage industry. It also represents a strategic move to support future growth, both domestically and in international markets.
Meanwhile, igus is also optimistic of working closely with Tirta on its future expansion projects. Stevanus said, “The success of our current collaboration has laid a strong foundation for future projects. The solutions implemented—particularly those involving igus® components—have proven to be highly effective and scalable. In fact, the project is now ready to be replicated across other PT Tirta Fresindo Jaya plants, as the company operates multiple facilities across different sites.”
