Indonesia’s Trade Ministry has announced the first export of yogurt products from Indonesia to Vietnam in May this year.
Two containers of yogurt produced by PT Cisarua Mountain Dairy Tbk and worth Rp 1.13 billion (US$63,000) left the manufacturer’s facility at Bogor, West Java and it demonstrates the quality of Indonesian dairy products ready for international markets.
Indonesia’s dairy product exports continues to show a positive trend. In 2025, the export value of this sector reached US$71.68 million, with growth of 2.35% throughout 2021-2025. Significant growth was seen in January-February 2026, where dairy product exports reached US$14.81 million, a growth of 63.43% compared to the same period in 2025. Specifically for the yogurt category, export value reached US$1.45 million from January-February 2026, an increase of 50.30% compared to the same period in 2025. Despite the low statistics, the high growth signifies a promising segment.
The Indonesian government is promoting dairy exports and has invited collaborations to strengthen the reputation of Indonesian products in the global market.
The first export by PT Cisarua Mountain Dairy is a living case study of the potential of value-added dairy products from Indonesia.
Established in 2004, PT Cisarua Mountain Dairy Tbk is a domestic investment company (PMDN) with a daily production capacity of 656 tons. Prior to entering the Vietnamese market, it has also successfully exported its products to the Philippines, Cambodia, Malaysia, China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Brunei and Palestine.
The Ministry of Trade, on the other hand, provides facilities to expand market access and increase product competitiveness.
