Green House, the region’s leading supplier of bakery ingredients, has officially shifted to its new 17,500 sq.ft factory in April 2022. The new plant is double the size of its previous site and offers better work layout in addition to higher production capacity for Green House to meet rising demand from the bakery industry.
In tandem with the factory opening, Green House had also launched new emulco flavors in July 2022 to reflect growing consumer enthusiasm in post-pandemic period to try out new flavors. The newly launched flavors include Gula Melaka (brown sugar), Ruby Chocolate, Pistachio and Earl Grey.
Michael Yap, Founder and CEO of Green House said, “An in-house event for the product launch was also organised by Green House with attendees comprising of BIS owners, home bakers and key procurement officers from the bakery industry. During this event, they were briefed on the company business as well as future flavor trends. A cake demonstration by Green House own in-house application chef helped to provide the attendees with sensory evaluation and appreciation of the new emulco flavors.”
As Malaysia and the region move from pandemic to endemic phase, the Bakery Industry as well as the HoReCa segment are expected to bloom again with rising demand and more innovations for bakery products. Green House aims to increase its export sales by 10 to 15%, as the company hopes to reach its corporate goal of “having exports contributing 50% of its total sales by 2025”. The opening of international borders will accelerate this goal.
For 2023, Green House will intensify its B2B presence by participating in more trade shows across the region like Food & Hotel Malaysia (FHM); ThaiFex Anuga Asia in Bangkok; Food & Hotel Asia (FHA) Singapore and Wofex in Manila, Philippines.
Green House is also stepping into the B2C category with more products launched for end-customers. In May, it has launched 23 types of oil soluble colors and 18 types of gel food colors in 30g consumer retail pack. There are plans to launch 12 additional types of emulco flavors in 30g consumer packs by October 2022. The products will be sold in BIS and online e-commerce platforms such as Shopee and Lazada.
Green House has also collaborated with 25 famous local baking studios in promoting its new consumer pack. One successful example is its collaboration with Mama Girl Baking on its gel color.
The unique selling point of Green House is its ability to offer flavor customisation with low Minimum-Order-Quantity (MOQ) of 25kg only. It can also be customised according to buyer specifications or country’s food regulations. Green House is also proactive in developing new flavours such as pandan curry emulco, strawberry basil emulco and ruby chocolate emulco by following closely the upcoming trends in the regional market.
Green House also has its own in-house innovation center with its own application chef that actively trying new recipes for emulco. It is able to work very closely with customer in providing solutions while at the same time shortening the time needed from product development to market launch.
Meanwhile, Green House is constantly improving its food safety and management system. It already has HACCP certification and is working towards FSSC 22000.
