In 2026, Vietnam Halal Certification Authority (HALCERT) has granted its first halal certification for food manufacturing to cereal and coffee products produced by HR Essence.
The halal certification covers a diverse portfolio of HR Essence products from collagen instant coffee to premium bird’s nest cereal, and nutritional cereal blends made from 25 types of grains and seeds. These products are positioned as high quality added-value products for halal markets worldwide.
Huong Nguyen, Chairwoman of HR Essence, said obtaining Halal certification is a demanding process requiring strict compliance at every stage, from raw materials and personnel to factory conditions and surrounding environments.
She added, “Under halal principles, there must be no room for doubt. Even with ISO 22000 in place, companies must develop a separate Halal compliance framework, involving hundreds of detailed verification questions for ingredients, additives and production processes, as well as measures to prevent cross-contamination.”
Shortly after receiving the certification, HR Essence has successfully gained its first shipment order to Malaysia.
