In a ground breaking effort to tackle plastic waste and redefine the coffee experience, Lyfecycle, a pioneering solution by innovators Polymateria, has recently announced a collaboration with ZUS Coffee to bring innovative sustainable straws to the Malaysian mass market.
The Lyfecycle straws that ‘last longer than a few seconds but less than a lifetime’ are now available at over 600 ZUS Coffee locations across Malaysia. These straws were developed in response to consumer demand for a more environmentally friendly alternative to single-use plastics. Constructed to endure throughout the drink but designed to return to nature within 2 years if exposed to the environment, these innovative straws mark a significant milestone in sustainable consumption. Unlike traditional plastics, Lyfecycle straws will safely return to nature without leaving harmful microplastics behind.
Tara Philip, spokesperson for Lyfecycle said, “Our collaboration with ZUS Coffee illustrates the power of collective action in addressing environmental challenges. Seeing Lyfecycle technology implemented on such a large scale signals the beginning of a meaningful shift. It’s about transforming everyday moments, like enjoying a coffee, into an opportunity to support sustainable progress.”
The Lyfecycle straws returns to nature within 2 years leaving no microplastics or toxins behind. What is left is only an earth-friendly wax that becomes a part of the natural cycle of life. The advantage of Lyfecycle straw is that it will not go soft fast unlike the paper straws commonly used at food services establishments.
