Privately-owned homegrown Tee Yih Jia (TYJ), also the world’s largest spring roll skin producer, has officially opened its S$500 million (US$388 million) production facility in Singapore in December 2025, which is also fully equipped with one of Asia’s largest fully automated warehouses.
Tee Yih Jia Food Hub will be the company’s 5th facility, occupying an area of 1.1 million sq.ft in a 9-storey building at Senoko Road. This new site, which is three times bigger, is located near the company’s older S$100 million (US$78 million) factory.
TYJ’s new warehouses also feature a fully automated storage and retrieval system (ASRS) with 100,000 pallet positions, making it one of the largest in Asia. ASRS is a computer-controlled inventory management system that automates the storage and retrieval of unit loads for picking, packing and shipping.
At a time when Singapore has one of the world’s most expensive real estate, TYJ committed an extravagant investment to open a state-of-the-art production facility signifying its long-term investment commitment to the country.
TYJ Founder Sam Goi emphasises on the need to utilise automation and digitalisation to ensure high quality and consistency of its products, amidst growing global competition from new players especially from China where production costs are much cheaper. As part of its sustainability goal, TYJ has also installed a solar-panel system in the new facility.
With revenue exceeding S$1 billion (US$780 million) annually, TYJ has reasons to be optimistic and has ample liquidity to invest in capacity expansion or acquisitions. TYJ is already a global brand with 5 facilities spread across Singapore (2), Malaysia, China and the US.
As part of its diversification goal, TYJ had fully acquired PSC Corp in mid-2025. PSC Corp is a local manufacturer and distributor of essential consumer goods like rice and cooking oil. PSC, on the other hand, also has a controlling stake in Kim Guan Coffee (KGC), marking its strategic move into coffee manufacturing and retailing.
TYJ, which once started with producing only spring roll skin, is now also known for producing frozen ethnic products like pratha, gyoza, wonton skins, ramen, plant-based products and ready meals. Its next growth ambition is into healthy/functional food products. Its customer base is no longer just end-consumers but also food manufacturers, food services, retailers and hotel establishments. With a bigger building, TYJ also offers contract manufacturing which now takes up 10% of its new factory capacity.
