Vinamilk has brought fame to Vietnam by gaining ‘3 Star’ for the Superior Taste Award, a prestigious award ranking quality of food and beverage products globally, equivalent to the Michelin stars awarded to best restaurants.
In 2023, Vietnam for the first time won 3 star for 2 dairy products, while 6 other products are also awarded with 1 or 2 stars.
Similar to Michelin stars, the Superior Taste Award recognizes and ranks food and beverage products on 3 levels, corresponding to the number of stars endorsed. Accordingly, the product with the highest level receives 3 stars –premium exceeding expectations (with a review score of 90% or more); 2 star products are excellent delicacies (scoring 80-90% of the criteria) and 1-star products are typical delicacies (scoring 70-80% of the criteria).
In particular, products will be scored based on 5 international Hedonic sensory analysis criteria which includes first impression, sight, smell, taste, and texture (for food) or aftertaste (for drinks).
Vinamilk Super Nut milk won the top-rated 3 star award. In addition, Vinamilk also has a series of other products named in the ‘Premium Taste’ list including Vinamilk Green Farm fresh milk products, Vinamilk 100% Organic, Fruit Love Pomegranate Juice, Vfresh Artichoke Tea and Phuong Nam Star Condensed milk.
To win the award, Vinamilk products had to go through a blind (uninformed) taste test done by over 200 professional and independent taste experts. These members come from prestigious sommelier and chef associations such as Le Guide Michelin, Gault & Millau and are carefully selected based on their tasting experience.
Winning awards has brought Vinamilk one step closer to becoming a global brand, and in July, Vinamilk also undertook an ambitious brand transformation program. Vinamilk’s new ‘bold’ brand strategy and visual identity will soon be rolled out across all – offline and online – from packaging to web presence, retail stores to corporate assets.
The dynamic new visual identity summarises Vinamilk endearing support for the community during its transformation years from a beloved brand that nourish Vietnamese consumers in its early years to its recent technological advancement in the development of ASEAN’s first carbon neutral dairy plant.
Mai Kieu Lien, CEO of Vinamilk said, “We have been caring for our nation with food, and will continue to extend this mission to making food for what the nation cares about. I believe that our efforts to transform Vinamilk while staying true to our heritage will ensure the brand’s relevance as a quintessential and indelible part of Vietnamese life for generations to come.”
The new and exciting brand identity is the result of a world-class local and global partnership with over 55 talented multi-disciplinary individuals across 10 nations. Vinamilk selectively assembled the all-star team of veterans, including Duy Dao of Studio DUY, in collaboration with brand strategy expert Karin Fyhrie of Sovereign Objects, to balance global standards and local insights.
In a separate development, Vinamilk Super Nut has also won the Best Dairy Alternative 2023 award at the 16th Global Dairy Congress held in London in June this year.
