US exports of premium quality lobsters, king crabs, salmons, cods, and pollocks to Vietnam have been increasing. Meanwhile, Vietnam has also exported shrimp and tuna to the US.
In 2022, agricultural trade between the US and Vietnam grew to almost US$10 billion compared to just US$4 billion in 2011.
Vietnam expanding middle class and the rising number of fine dining opportunities in the country has indirectly opened up the market for quality Alaskan seafood products.
Alaskan seafood can also be used to create innovative premium seafood products to cater to the demand of a niche group of consumers in the country.
