Vietnam aims to bolster its meat processing sector by inviting global giants like JBS SA to invest in the country.
JBS SA is the world’s largest meat processor with operation in 24 countries. Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh (PM) has urged JBS to increase its collaboration on supply chain diversification and market expansion in the processed meat sector.
At the same time, the PM is also encouraging JBS to expand its operations in Vietnam, particularly in livestock farming, meat processing, industrial crops and coffee processing.
PM is also seeking JBS help to connect Vietnamese companies with Brazilian enterprises to foster cooperation and investment in the agricultural sector.
JBS also saw great opportunity to invest in Vietnam as a window for access to the greater Southeast Asian market.
