Trung Nguyen Legend has started the construction of its energy coffee factory in Buon Ma Thuot near the Dak Lak province. The factory, covering an area of 50,000 sq.metre in the Tan An Industrial Cluster requires an investment of Dong 2 trillion (US$78 million).
The facility will also be the company’s 5th factory in Vietnam and it aims to enhance the value of Buon Ma Thuot’s Robusta coffee beans and boost deep processing capabilities.
It is also expected to be the largest coffee production facility in Southeast Asia incorporating cutting-edge technologies from Germany and Italy, amongst others.
The facility, meeting Net Zero sustainability standards, is part of Trung Nguyen Legend’s broader vision to elevate Vietnam’s coffee sector through sustainable and high-quality production.
Buon Ma Thuot’s Robusta coffee has gained significant global recognition and has become increasingly popular in major coffee-consuming markets such as Germany, Italy, China, the US, Japan, Spain, and Indonesia.
Vietnam is one of the world’s leading exporter of coffee at 1.32 million tons with sales reaching US$5 billion. However, only about 20% of its coffee harvest undergoes deep processing, as such the government is actively encouraging enterprises to invest in advanced processing technologies.
