Suntory Pepsico Vietnam, a joint venture (JV) between PepsiCo Inc. and Suntory Holdings Limited, is expecting the commencement of its Dong 4.43 trillion (US$185) million beverage plant in southern province of Long An in early 2026.
Taka Sanno, CEO of Suntory Beverage & Food Asia Pacific said that the 20 hectare plant in Huu Thanh Industrial Park is expected to churn out 796 million litres of products annually which include beverages, purified water and milk amongst others.
The JV now has factories in HCMC, Can Tho City, Quang Nam, Bac Ninh and Dong Nai provinces. The latest plant in central province of Quang Nam, operational in 2017 at a cost of US$56 million, has an annual capacity of 850 million litres. The JV has been expanding the operations of its other plants to meet rising demand for beverages in the country.
The beverage sector is indeed the 2nd largest contributor to Vietnam’s state budget with about Dong 50 trillion (US$2.11 billion) a year, only after the Oil & Gas sector. The sector’s revenue is forecast to rise to US$6 billion in 2025, said Nguyen Tien Vy, Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Beer-Alcohol-Beverage Association.
