PPB Group Bhd has allocated RM787 million (US$186 million) for its capital expenditure (capex) over the next 5 years.
Managing Director Lim Soon Huat said it will allocate RM392 million (US$92.5 million) for investments in flour mills in China and the construction of a silo and maize facility in Malaysia, as well as RM296 million (US$70 million) for non-food investments (new cinemas).
PPB Group will also focus on enhancing supply chain management and operational efficiency to mitigate the impact of potential disruptions caused by climate change, geopolitical conflicts, and economic and financial market volatility.
“Volatility in the grains market is one of the business challenges that we face but the question is how well we manage price fluctuations,” added Mr Lim.
