Nutifood Highland Nutrition Food JSC, a subsidiary of Vietnam’s food giant Nutifood, has boosted its investment in the Nutifood Highland Dairy Processing Plant in the central province of Gia Lai by nearly 4x, from Dong 289 billion (US$11 million) to Dong 1.05 trillion ($39.9 million).
The Gia Lai Economic Zone Authority has issued an adjusted investment registration certificate for Nutifood Highland Dairy Processing Plant. Of the additional investment of Dong 761 billion (US$28.9 million), Nutifood has already spent Dong 550 billion (US$20.9 million).
In terms of capacity, the plant will increase its production of pasteurized milk, UHT milk, fruit milk, chocolate malt drinks, and other liquid milk products from 110 million litres to 165 million litres annually.
Other products such as yogurt, cheese, powdered milk (currently 5,000 tons/year), and nutritional supplements (1,500 tons/year) will maintain their current production scale and continue to play an important role in the company’s product portfolio.
The Nutifood Highland Dairy Processing Plant is located on lots E1-E2-E3 of the Tra Da Industrial Park in Pleiku town, covering over 6.3 hectares of land. According to the Gia Lai Economic Zone Authority, the expansion of the plant reinforces its role as one of the key agro-processing industrial facilities in the province. It contributes significantly to the local budget and enhances Gia Lai’s image as an attractive and dynamic destination for investment in food and agricultural processing.
According to Nutifood Highland Nutrition Food JSC, Phase 2 of the expansion is expected to be completed by November 2025. The company is committed to expediting the installation of production lines and fully complying with environmental, fire safety, land use, and investment regulations.
At the 2025 Gia Lai Investment Promotion Conference, the provincial People’s Committee plans to sign a memorandum of investment with Nutifood on a project to promote Gia Lai as a ‘Dairy Paradise’, with a projected dairy investment of Dong 6 trillion (US$227.76 million).
With effect from 1 July 2025, the former Central Highlands province of Gia Lai was merged with its neighbouring Binh Dinh province to form the new Gia lai province.
