Recently, there are rumours that the China government might be planning to impose a prohibition order to forbid civil servants from having an alcoholic drink during and after work in an effort to boost productivity.

This came as very bad news for the alcoholic drink manufacturers especially foreign liquor exporters like Diageo (UK), Rey Cointreau (France) and Pernod Ricard that rely heavily on China business for sales. Diageo claimed that 5% of its sales derived from China whereas Rey Cointreau and Pernod Ricard relied on China for 30% and 10% of their overall sales respectively.
