Japan’s leading dairy producer, Morinaga Milk Industry will soon start manufacturing and selling its products in Vietnam via its wholly-owned subsidiary Elovi Vietnam.
This is part of Morinaga’s plan to capitalise on a growing health-conscious consumer market and starting November, sales of yogurt and nutritional supplements will start mainly in Hanoi and HCMC, and they will be gradually expanded throughout the country.
The first product to be launched is Climeal nutritional drink for the middle-aged and elderly. It contains 10 billion LAC-Shield beneficial bacteria, 27 vitamins and minerals which are often lacking in middle-aged people. The 2nd product to be launched is Morinaga low-fat yoghurt, a well-known fat-free yoghurt in Japan with 2 flavours of low sugar and low sugar aloe vera.
The yoghurt market and the nutritional drink market in Vietnam are growing at an annual rate of 8% and 14% respectively. In 2024, Morinaga Milk aims to achieve sales turnover of Dong 333 billion (US$13.5 million) in Vietnam.
