Minor Food Group Plc, one of the country’s leading restaurant chains, has unveiled plan to open more than 100 stores in 2023.
Kreetakorn Siriatha, the company’s Chief Financial and Strategy Officer, said it is ready to expand with the opening of more than 100 new branches of its food brands including Sizzler, The Pizza Company, Burger King, The Coffee Club, Swensen’s, Bonchon and Dairy Queen. The new branches are expected to be medium-sized stores.
The group was cautious on investment in the past 2 years due to the pandemic, but 2023 is slated to be a growth year for its business. Kreetakorn said the group is focusing on core businesses, strengthening them via rebranding in 2023, specifically The Pizza Company and The Coffee Club.
He added that in 2023, the industry sees new players entering the market while online food delivery is still expected to remain popular despite the return of dining-in options in 2022.
Anirute David Collins, General Manager of SLRT Co, a subsidiary of Minor Food Group and the operator of Sizzler, said the chain is planning store expansion and renovation; the introduction of new recipes; more festive recipes like premium steaks which are popular with customers; and an e-member upgrade in 2023. The firm plans to open 4-5 Sizzler restaurants in 2023 bringing its total outlets to 65 in 2023.
