Donations all over the world have been pouring up to the tune of more than US$10 billion to support disaster and relief efforts for victims affected by the major earthquake on 6 February in Turkiye.
Food and beverage companies have also contributed tons of packaged food, one of them is Malaysia-based Mamee Double Decker (M) Sdn Bhd which had given 450,000 packets of Mamee instant noodles worth RM318,000 (US$71,000).
Mamee Executive Director Datuk Gary Choo Kok Sen said the donation was made as part of the company’s corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives to lend a helping hand to those in need. Datuk Gary added, “Turkiye is one of Mamee’s customers, and we have been exporting our products there for a long time, as such we are depeply concerned about what happened there. This is one of the ways for us to help the victims and rescue members by providing them with comfort food.”
