Lotus Bakeries has disclosed plan to pour investment into 3 production plants in Belgium, Thailand and the US to expand production of its Biscoff brand.
The Belgium-headquartered business is seeking to invest at least €500 million (US$574.1 million) from now till 2030, which is slated to be its ‘largest investment programme ever for Biscoff’.
In a statement, Lotus mentioned the investment in Lembeke (Belgium), Mebane (North Carolina, US), and Chonburi (Thailand).
In Thailand, the first phase of the greenfield Lotus Biscoff plant in Chonburi was completed toward the end of the 1st quarter 2026 and is now running at full operation.
The company said, “With approximately 15% of total Lotus Biscoff revenue currently sold in Asia Pacific, the new Chonburi facility provides a strong platform to support the continued growth of the brand in the region.”
A 2nd production floor will be added to Chonburi as part of the investment project, with the first line set to be in operation before the end of 2027.
This largest ever investment programme will enable Lotus Bakeries to align with robust global demand for Biscoff and to produce the full range of Biscoff hero products across 3 strategic regions which include Europe and the Middle East, the Americas and Asia Pacific while maintaining strong cash flow generation.
The company said that the Lembeke plant is also the ‘largest single-product cookie production site in Europe’.
The Biscoff brand has enjoyed steady growth of at least 20% in sales over the past years. This can be seen in all countries and regions, with Europe showing the largest increase. In the US, Biscoff remained the fastest-growing brand in both cookies and spreads, while also generating the group’s largest revenue gain for any single country.
