Just a few months after Kewpie announced its mayonnaise capacity expansion in Indonesia, its affiliate Kewpie Thailand is now planning to construct a new production facility called Kewpie Thailand Factory to manufacture mayonnaise.
The new facility requires an investment of Bt 705 million (US$19.9 million) and will have an annual production capacity of 18,000 tons, doubling the factory total capacity.
With the new factory, Kewpie will be able to strengthen its supply system to fulfill growing domestic as well as export demand. The factory is scheduled to start operation in January 2025.
The facility will also support gluten-free and plant-based products to meet diverse needs. In addition, solar panels will be installed to increase the use of renewable energy in the entire plant from about 25% in 2022 to about 35% in 2025. The boiler will use coconut shell as a biomass fuel.
