Japan’s Kameda Seika has formed a joint-venture with Singha Corporation, a company that handles the manufacture and sales of foods products in Thailand, to manufacture and sell rice crackers for export in Thailand.
The name of the new joint venture is Singha Kameda Thailand. Both partners will hold equal 50:50 share in the new company which was established in late June 2020 with a paid-up capital of Bt 229 million (US$7.2 million) By combining Kameda Seika’s technologies of manufacturing and product development for rice crackers with the sales and marketing expertise of Singha Corporation, the 2 companies hope to synergise both strengths and form a global hub that is both cost competitive and high quality in production.
In addition, due to the aging of buildings and production facilities at Thai Kameda, a subsidiary of Kameda Seika in Thailand, Kameda Seika is planning to transfer the functions of this subsidiary to the joint venture by the end of 2020.
