Jollibee Foods Corporation (JFC) is further strenbgthening its market position in the Philippines with the launch of JolliBrews, a café seen to be close rival to McDonald’s McCafe.
Instead of serving fast food, the cafe offers specialty coffee, pastries, and savory snacks. The cafe is on a test run for now, as JFC has not made any official announcement about its rollout.
JolliBrews’ launch comes on the heels of JFC’s acquisition of South Korean coffee brand Compose Coffee. The conglomerate also owns the global brand Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf.
Meanwhile, its close rival McDonald’s already has 49 McCafe stores nationwide.
