The sweet and fragrant Harumanis variant of mango, native to the Indonesian hinterland, is produced in large quantities in the Malaysian state of Perlis. And online grocery shopping platform, airasia grocer is planning to sell it to international markets.
Besides distributing the fruits to key partners in the Klang Valley, Sabah and Sarawak currently, airasia grocer has also established cross-border distribution in Singapore and Hong Kong.
According to Joanna Ibrahim, CEO of airasia grocer, the plan is supported by the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Industries (MAFI), Federal Agricultural Marketing Authority (FAMA) and the Department of Agriculture (DOA). “We are confident that mango lovers will share our love for this sweet tasting and smelling fruit.”
The fruits are able to reach their international destinations within 48 hours from the time of harvest, including time for stringent quality checks, packaging, flight time and customs clearance processes at delivery destinations.
This highly-prized mango has a distinct taste and rank among one of the most expensive mangoes sold in this region.
