Growtheum Capital Partners (GCP) has agreed to invest around US$100 million for a stake in Vietnam International Dairy Products JSC as it looks to tap the region’s growing dairy market.
Singapore-based GCP will hold around 15% stake in the Vietnamese firm after the deal.
Vietnam’s dairy sector is expected to grow steadily in response to rising demand for nutritional products. Milk consumption in Vietnam was only 28 liters per person, which is considerably lower than Thailand (35 litres) and Singapore (45 litres) in 2021.
The US$100 million investment will be used to support the rapid expansion of International Dairy Products in Vietnam and across the region.
International Dairy Products manufactures items such as drinking yogurt, malt drinks and white milk. Its brands include KUN and BaVi. The firm’s revenue rose 26% to Dong 6.1 trillion (US$260 million) last year.
