Carlsberg Vietnam has officially inaugurated the expansion of its Phu Bai Brewery in Hue City with an investment of US$90 million, marking a 50% expansion of its brewing capacity. This makes Phu Bai Carlsberg’s largest production facility in Asia and one of its most efficient globally.
The facility features advanced brewing and packaging technologies that cut water use by 20% and energy consumption by 15%. It operates on renewable electricity and biomass-powered steam, with wastewater treated using advanced systems. Carlsberg aims to achieve zero waste to landfill by 2025 and net-zero emissions in production by 2028.
Carlsberg Vietnam Managing Director Andrew Khan highlighted the company’s focus on efficiency, quality, and community impact. He added that the expansion is not just about brewing more beer, but also about brewing a better future for Vietnam.
