Bulgarian state-owned LB Bulgaricum has disclosed plan to expand globally with countries like Malaysia, Vietnam and Pakistan identified as potential destinations for its dairy and yogurt products.
The company has sent test samples to many countries, while there are already companies enquiring from India, Malaysia and Vietnam on obtaining a dairy licence from Bulgaria.
LB Bulgaricum is planning to launch an entirely Bulgarian line on the foreign markets.
This year also marks the 50th year anniversary of LG Bulgaricum partnership with Japan’s Meiji. The 2 partners have discussed on allocating an additional investment of €2 million (US$2.13 million) for the next 10 years. This will include the establishment of a research and development centre that will develop new dairy products containing the Lactobacillus bulgaricus bacteria.
