During the FHA Food & Beverage 2023 exhibition, Malaysia-based ITP Foods Sdn Bhd has introduced its new product, Thai Lime Sauce which is available in 2 plastic bottle packaging sizes i.e. 410g and 800g with a recommended retail price of S$5 (US$3.72) and S$9 (US$6.70) respectively.
Thai Lime Sauce is a condiment which originates from Southern Thailand, however it is widely used in the northern part of Peninsular Malaysia. It is popularly consumed as dipping sauce along with grilled seafood or meatball at street food stalls.
Its main ingredient is lime which provides the sauce with its distinct tanginess and refreshing flavour, and it also has a natural detoxifying properties. Together with other fresh ingredient such as garlic , fish sauce , pepper and chilli, it balances the flavour of seafood and meat but relieve greasiness, and reduce the feeling of being overwhelmed by rich or heavy flavours.
The product target market will be customers who cook or serve seafood and meat product, especially grilled or fried food. Thai Lime Sauce can also be supplied to small businesses like food stalls, cafes or restaurants that can use this sauce in their cooking or to be served as dipping sauce with food.
According to Eunice Lai, Sales and Marketing Manager, “We figured the demand for Thai Lime Sauce to rise when street food businesses are being modernised and now become franchise kiosks or stalls in shopping mall food courts. Franchise owner of street food brand and other restaurant owner will look for supplies of Thai Lime Sauce in larger scale with clean production and also certified Halal. It’s not only food safety, but also the consistency in quality and cost effectiveness which will help our customers maintain their brand reputation.
