Australians get to be the first to try out Mars Wrigley’s latest product addition, Maltesers Gold, which features a malt centre coated in gold white chocolate. It has a rich flavor of caramel and white chocolate.
Mars Wrigley’s Marketing Director Ben Hill said, “As one of our first consumer-led product innovations for the year, we have a feeling Australian chocolate-lovers are going to be incredibly excited by this launch.”
Maltesers Gold is manufactured locally at its Ballarat innovation hub in Australia with the recipe formulated by the local team set for official launch on retail shelves in Australia in January 2023.
Hill said, “Last year, we invested more than A$25 million (US$17.4 million) into our Ballarat site with the ambition to bolster consumer-led product innovation within our Bitesize Portfolio. Maltesers Gold is not only one of the first product innovations for us this year, it’ a great example of where we’ll be taking the brand over the next 12 to 24 months, so there is a lot for us to be excited about.”
Maltesers makes its way into the biscuit aisle, as ‘it is a good malt biscuit that melts in your mouth’, according to a consumer feedback on social media.
Maltesers Gold will be sold for A$5 (US$3.50) in 130g pouch packaging at major supermarket chains like Coles, Woolworths and other independent retailers.
