OSF Flavors has recently unveiled Angel Hair Flavor (AHF) in December 2024, a product inspired from Angel Hair Chocolate. This new profile combines creamy white chocolate, nutty pistachio cream, and the light, sweet essence of Turkish cotton candy (pismaniye).
According to an interview with Pierre Battu, Managing Director Asia of OSF Flavors based in Jakarta, Indonesia, “AHF is highly versatile and works well across categories that are particularly strong in Asia’s food and beverage market.”
Angel Hair Chocolate is considered a new internet sensation, a trend advocated by extremely influential people with highly positive engagement (76.7%). Angel Hair Chocolate saw over 60 million views alone in the past 4 months and 3.2 million views on Instagram.
Battu mentioned that AHF has strong applications in the following food segments:
- Bakery – Ideal for fillings in cakes, biscuits, and pastries.
- Dairy – Perfect for flavored milk and ice creams.
- Confectionery – Suitable for sweet bars, chocolates, and gummies.
- Snacks – Well-suited to Asia’s sweet–savory snacking culture, tapping into demand for viral, indulgent dessert trends, especially pastel-themed creations.
- RTD & Sports Nutrition – An excellent fit for protein drinks and meal-replacement beverages.
Following the opening of OSF logistics hub in 2023 and its 400 sq.metre Innovation Center in 2024 in Indonesia, OSF is now working towards establishing its first production facility in the region by the end of 2025. This facility, located in Indonesia, will serve local customers while also functioning as a production hub for the wider Southeast Asia region.
OSF existing Innovation Centre houses 2 specialized application labs i.e. Sweet and Savory. The center is designed to co-develop and tailor flavor solutions for Southeast Asian manufacturers.
Battu added, “Our dedicated team includes food scientists, chefs, and industry professionals who have managed R&D and application labs at other leading flavor houses. They are ready to work closely with OSF clients to unlock the full potential of their projects—one flavor at a time.”
