PT Sumber Alfaria Trijaya Tbk., the owner of Alfamart stores is planning to open 1,000 new Alfamart outlets in 2020, particularly outside Java island. Sumber Alfaria Trijaya Director and Corporate Secretary, Tomin Widian, said that with the new openings, Alfamart will have a combined 15,310 stores by year end.
The company will also continue to develop its digital business primarily to expand the distribution channels of consumers in big cities. The digital platform also provides shopping needs for various groceries. “With these various strategies, we view business growth in 2020 to be positive,” he added.
For financial year ended September 2019, Alfamart recorded a 9% increase in revenue to Rp 54.11 trillion (US$3.32 billion), and an impressive 94% growth in net profit to Rp 650.2 billion (US$40 million).
