Alchemist to open its first 2 overseas stores in Japan

Singapore-based coffee specialist Alchemist, which has 11 stores island-wide, has embarked on its overseas expansion plan with the opening of the first 2 stores in Tokyo, Japan.

Known for its minimalist aesthetic, Alchemist will serve the neighbourhoods of Aoyama and Asakusa in Tokyo, with more than 10 different types of coffee roasted in small batches adapted to each variant’s characteristics.

Will Leow, Founder of Alchemist mentioned that the expansion into Japan is like a natural progression, as Japan has a large number of coffee lovers. There are plans to open up to 10 stores in Tokyo by end-2028.
