Ajinomoto started business in Vietnam in the early 1990s, with its first product being monosodium glutamate (MSG) from ‘AminoScience’ – its core expertise.
It has expanded into more than 40 products so far, and in recent years, it has diversified away from food seasonings to focus more into health/well-being with the recent launch of Blendy® Instant Herbal Tea product line in March this year, an instant tea containing traditional herbs with a low-sugar formula, and supplemented with glycine – an amino acid with a function to improve sleep quality.
According to an Ajinomoto Vietnam representative, the company also plans to expand its business into the Healthcare sector through medical food products used for the treatment of specific diseases. Consequently, the company will not only contribute to the well-being of healthy individuals but also help in the care and treatment of illnesses and improve the quality of life of Vietnamese consumers.
Ajinomoto has successfully leveraged the power of AminoScience – using amino acids to develop products and services to resolve social issues and contribute to people’s health and well-being.
