Ajinomoto Philippines Corp. (Ajinomoto) has unveiled plan to invest Pesos 9.1 billion (US$160 million) to open a new factory with sustainable operation within the TARI Estate in Tarlac City, under the supervision of The Philippine Economic Zone Authority (PEZA).
According to Ajinomoto’s representative, “PEZA embraces the Ajinomoto umami seasoning and food culture as we move forward together in this partnership of ecozoning the Philippines towards an inclusive and sustainable economy.”
Construction of the state-of-the-art factory is scheduled to start in May 2026, with completion expected by April 2028. The new facility will be Ajinomoto’s 3rd plant in the country, besides those in Cebu and Bulacan.
Ajinomoto Philippines manufactures its 2 top-selling products – the iconic Aji-no-moto umami seasoning and the Aji-Ginisa flavor seasoning mix. The company is planning to expand its existing range of products as the Philippines is transitioning into an upper-middle-income economy, opening new opportunities for the company.
The new factory will produce flavored seasoning and breading mixes such as Aji-Ginisa and Crispy Fry.
