Ajinomoto (M) Berhad (Ajinomoto), through the Ajinomoto Group Creating Shared Value (ASV) initiatives, aims to promote the health and well-being of Malaysians by organising the ‘Less Salt, Umami It’ campaign which will end on 30 September 2022.
Ajinomoto is concerned with the current situation whereby according to the Malaysian Community Salt Survey (MyCoSS), 79% of Malaysians are consuming excessive salt intake which averages about 7.9g or 1.6 teaspoons of salt per day. Excessive salt intake will lead to diseases such as high blood pressure, diabetes and stroke amongst others.
To encourage a healthy lifestyle and educate Malaysians on less salt intake through AJI-NO-MOTO® Umami Seasoning, Ajinomoto has arranged a variety of activities throughout the ‘Less Salt, Umami It’ campaign. The participants also stand a chance to win cash prizes by participating in the sodium reduction recipe challenge which will end on 17 September 2022.
Consumers also stand a chance to receive a free recipe card by purchasing a minimum of RM5 (US$1.10) of AJI-NO-MOTO® Umami Seasoning products from the Ajinomoto Malaysia Official Flagship Stores on the e-commerce platforms Shopee and Lazada until 30 September 2022.
Ajinomoto hopes that via the ASV initiative, it is able to educate Malaysians to consume less salt yet can still enjoy delicious meals with AJI-NO-MOTO® Umami Seasoning as part of its motto ‘Eat Well, Live Well’!
