Krones all set to ramp up its Malaysian operation

Krones, the world's leading manufacturer of beverage filling and packaging technology has recently appointed Tiam Seong Yong as Country Manager for its Malaysia operation.
Tiam Seong Yong, who is joining Krones with 20 years of sales and marketing management experience in world renowned packaging companies, will be setting up and leading the new Krones subsidiary in Malaysia.
Presently, Krones has only sales representation in Malaysia, with the market taken care of by Krones (Thailand) Co. Ltd. According to a spokesperson from Krones, a new subsidiary in Malaysia will allow more localised solutions with local service offering for its Malaysian customers.
Krones has identified Malaysia as a high potential market for its variety of offered products. Starting with a team of dedicated service engineers and sales force, Krones strives to increase its share in the market and being in close proximity to its customers so as to be able to respond faster to their needs. Krones aims to deliver world class solutions and seamless services for its existing and potential customers in Malaysia.
Currently, Krones is in the process of refurbishing a new office in Malaysia which is slated for completion sometime in mid-November, with business expected to start in early 2019.
Krones' main focus in the Malaysian market will be the packaging and bottling technologies for the Beverage and Liquid Food Segments.
At present, Krones already has a list of reputable Malaysian customers that it hopes to serve better with the new subsidiary and they include Coca-Cola Bottlers Malaysia, F&N Beverages and Etika Beverages amongst others.
German-based Krones AG is the world's leading manufacturer of lines for filling beverages in plastic and glass bottles or beverage cans. The company manufactures stretch blow-moulding machines for producing polyethylene terephthalate (PET) bottles, plus fillers, labellers, bottle washers, pasteurisers, inspectors, packers and palletisers. This product portfolio is complemented by material flow systems and process technology for producing beverages, plus syrup kitchens, for clients like breweries, dairies and soft-drink companies.
Krones reported 3.69 billion (US$4.29 billion) revenue in 2017, with stable growth of 10% in order intake.
